Target Group: This course aims to provide employees with health & safety understanding which will enable them to contribute to any health and safety management system.
Student Numbers: 2 minimum, 12 maximum.
Course Duration: 6 hours
Course Content: In particular the programme will enable staff to:
- Work in a safe and healthy manner and contribute to improving health and safety within an organisation’s policy
- Identify key hazards in their own workplace
- Understand the importance of health and safety rules and working procedures
- Report potential health and safety problems
- Be responsible for their own actions
- The syllabus is generic in nature – it sets out the principles of health and safety, but our trainers will make the syllabus to the background of the students.

- Health and safety at Work - Health and Safety Law
- Prevention of Accidents and ill Health - Risk Assessment
- First Aid at Work - Personal Protective Equipment
- Welfare - Work Equipment
- Electricity - Fire Prevention
- Hazardous Substances - Ergonomics and Workstation
- Manual Handling - Noise
Course Materials: Course Book.
Assessment: Short Multi – Choice paper, with a pass mark.
Validation of Certification: Certification will be awarded on successful completion of the multi – choice paper and is valid for 3 years. Employers must seek regular in house training to provide appropriate level of competence for all staff involved in Health & Safety.
