Level 1 Award in Food Safety in Catering

Target group:
This course is suitable for a variety of candidates, including new employees with minimal or no prior food safety knowledge including students who have just left school. Other examples are employees handling low – risk or wrapped food or those who work front of house, such as waiting or check out staff.

 

Student Numbers:
2 minimum, 12 maximum.

 

Course Duration:
3 hours.

  • Food Safety (food hygiene, hazards, responsibilities)
  • Personal Hygiene
  • Cleaning
  • Contamination

Course Materials:
Course handouts.

 

Assessment:
Multi Choice paper, with a pass mark.

 

Validation of Certification:
Certificates will be awarded on successful completion of the multi – choice paper and is valid for 3 years. Employers must seek regular in house training to provide appropriate level of competence for all staff involved with food safety
