Target Audience:
Everyone working in a supervisory position within a workplace.

The Objectives / Learning Outcome:
In particular the programme will enable staff to:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the main concepts of Health and Safety
  • Show awareness of benefits of Health and Safety culture
  • Explain the roles and responsibilities of  individuals, supervisors and management in Health and Safety
  • Demonstrate an understanding of Health and Safety control and improvement strategies available to supervisors

Course Details:
There is a maximum of 12 places available.
Validation of Certificate: 3 years
Course Duration: 3 Days

Course Book will be provided and certificates forwarded on successful completion.

Content:

  • Terminology used in respect of health and safety
  • The benefits of ensuring high standards of health and safety in the workplace
  • The principles of risk assessment and its role in a health and safety management system
  • Key aspects of the UK legal system for health and safety and enforcement practices
  • How to identify and control common workplace hazards
  • The role of personal protective equipment in reducing risk
  • The requirements for welfare provision in the workplace
  • How to promote a positive health and safety culture

Assessment:
There is a multi-choice paper of 60 questions with a pass mark of 40 – 50. There is a maximum time limit of 2 Hours.
You are not allowed any assistance to complete the answers.
