Level 1 Award in Food Safety in Catering/Retail/Manufacturing
Target group: This course is suitable for a variety of candidates, including new employees with minimal or no prior food safety knowledge including students who have just left school. Other examples are employees handling low – risk or wrapped food or those who work front of house, such as waiting or check out staff.
Student Numbers: 2 minimum, 12 maximum
Number of Hours: 3 hours
Course Content:
- Food Safety (food hygiene, hazards, responsibilities)
- Personal Hygiene
- Cleaning
- Contamination
Course Materials: Course handouts
Assessment: Multi Choice paper, with a pass mark.
Validation of Certification: Certificates will be awarded on successful completion of the multi – choice paper and is valid for 3 years. Employers must seek regular in house training to provide appropriate level of competence for all staff involved with food safety
